anyway, we reached mainland at bout 1430, catch a light lunch near by then head back hotel for shower!! super duper dirty & sticky.. i actually need to wash my haih 3x oni i feel comfortable! end results: hait clean bt dry... well, at 1st, we thought we shud hav a good rest today since didnt had good sleep for few days liao.. bt then also v wasting if we dont do anything today.. empty travel log.. haha kiasu-ism.. we then head of to d parliament for changing of guards.. also had ice batang (sudah v long didnt had ice batang) on a hot day - super nice & cooling.. dinner at plaka sun bin admire d night view of acropolis

woke up at about 8am and went out to the open deck.. at dis time, we r reaching one of d island - Ios (pronounce as e-os).. all islands seems to b SOOoooo nice :D pics came out to b great coz d ocean is clean, d sky is clear..

d hsemates SANTORINI HERE WE ARE!! santorini island was a big island, bt during a volcano eruption, santorini island broke into 3 parts. the main island tht we r lading on is called thira.. d sharp cliffs is where d detachment took plc.. 
took a bus to fira town where we went looking for local tours (volcano & hot spring exploration) then lunch at el greco restaurant, near d main square.. hm was dipuji sweet & gorgeous (just coz she pay d bill... on our behalf...) ehem!! by d waiter.. hey!! how bout other girls here?! haha.. 
 took a cable car down to old port (meeting point) & took a boat to d volcano.. it is a national geological park of nea kameni. it has always been a site of scientific interest & is a protected natural monument.. it is also d youngest volcanic landform in eastern Mediterranean as it is still an active volcano (arent we girls v daring?.. haha). the oldest rock formation daes 430 yrs back & d most recent ones in about 50 yrs ago (last eruption in 1950). Nea kameni was part of santorini bt after eruption, it "detach" fr the main island. magma still exist at a depth of a few km under d island, forming d hot spring near by & hot gases tht r emitted fr fumaroles of d central craters on d peak of nea kameni.. super hot lo.. & oni those who know how to swim can go hot spring :p as my fren would know.. haha i duno how 2 swim :p went bodek wit d captain, n he lent me a life jacket (lousy type, redang type would b much better.. haha)

d 3 of us who went for a swim :) head back to old port & tht's d end of our local tour.. took a donkey ride instead of cable car up to fira.. felt v sorry 4 d donkey bt they really tried their best.. d donkey master also v pilih kasih.. gav hm a bigger donkey & a smaller one to me.. bt i hav our backpack on me!! my poor donkey.. love her v much.. donkey ride was fun, if they dun keep knocking into each other.. cy actually raised her both leg up when d donkeys were walking side by side.. haha coz bulu v geli.. :p

hm wit 2 bagpack.. wht did u noticed? hehe identical? apparently all 4 hsemates hav d same :p bt oni chris & hm brought dis time.. did a bit of souvenir shopping b4 catching a bus to Oia (pronouce as ee-ya) for d most romantic sunset in d world! :) wow d bus was a bit horrible i think.. they tried to cramp as much ppl as they could.. other than ppl seating down, ppl also stood in 2 line.. can u imagine how cramp was tht? i wonder if it's legal to do tht.. sunset at 2030 & was v nice :) too bad our camera wasnt good enuf for sunset.. haha also ALL our camera ran out of batt by d end of sunset! luckily we met a nice msia girl & husband, came here for honey moon.. n she promised to share the pics :) keke.. (check out d albums) after sun has set, we still waited there for awhile.. some of us actually hoping for resurgence :p tht's d end of our plan :) we still missed out perissa beach & wine tasting.. bt i'm sure all of us will b back.. some time later.. haha.. 
didnt get to hav dinner coz rushing to go back.. we got head back to fira, then to d port.. this time, we didnt manage to get a cabin, so can only overnight on seats.. a bad condition ferry, if were to compare to last night ones.. public toilet: 1/3 toilet was locked, 1/3 toilet could lock d door, 1/3 toilet cnt flush.. no cabin = no bath :( i feel worse tht kiruna where i didnt bath for 72 hrs.. also had muscle aching in d night, proly coz i didnt go swim for v long & no warm up b4 jumping into d hot spring.. haih.. didnt sleep well lo.. woke up at 5am in d morning, daddy drove to kl for meeting etc & i tumpang go back kl settle some stuff.. didnt inform much ppl.. sorry.. coz was a v rush trip.. gona go back d next day coz well my fren shud know how attach am i to my family.. moreover it's one yr apart fr home.. home feels great for me although it's a bit awkward to b in foreign country :p listening to Ai FM on my way back.. haha cant tell the feeling i had for listening back to d familiar DJ :) plces tht i went to in spore & msia, seems to b airing old songs (chinese + eng).. haha i'm feeling old dy.. when dad's car went into msia highway (spore they call it freeway :p, bt nt v free at all.. speed limit 90km/hr), well nt 2 say v happy bt there is some kind of weird feeling. i actually hav A WEE smile fr the bottom of my heart! proly msia is nt such a restricted plc, less rules (pro & cons) & mayb a bit feel at home? in spore, i lik coz it's v convenient, clean & also safety is nt a prob.. less crime.. most importantly, can see my family everyday & night.. haha.. i miss glasgow too!! 1stly being d weather!!! haha my sinus is coming back!! OMG.. also d cooling weather.. proly is nt a bad choice for going athens for my last trip, coz got used a bit to hot weather & sticky skin :p now nt tht uneasy bt still, feel lik cleaning myself more times.. i was also used to tell everyone.. i want to eat this & tht when i go back msia!!! hmm bt when i actually came back, the urge to try everything went off.. haha.. i dont know why.. am i oni one? any of my fren felt d same? anyway going back msia to settle my PTPTN loan.. wht a PTPTN.. perjanjian say pay back oni when i start to work or 6 mths after grad.. they ady start to ask me pay back in jan 2008!! (tried to thing of a logic reason, proly coz they THOUGHT we fini IMU course = grad!! bt we r nt!! we went UK for final year!! super stupid la they all..) & they just send a warning letter to all of us, saying, if i dun pay back in 2wk, tindakan undang2 akan diambil.. *Sweat* fine... then hm say can appeal.. ahem did thought of doing tht, bt after reading d T&C, even if i appeal, they nt going to prolong my pay back period, they just gona delay ur payment.. since i going back for 2 days oni, haih.. pay them la.. adding all the hassel, they gona charge me d same interest also.. hope they did rcv payment!!! if nt i gona...................!!! also went to check my bank acct... all my ATM card beku (inactive dy)!! haha luckily wasnt a lot procedures to went through :) then met up wit hl & tracy for lunch & a movie at pavillion (x-files - hmm so so oni, bt he is always good looking..) really glad to see them both again & both ady has their own plan for future.. hl cont his CLP + an extra duno wht secretary course (good luck!) & tracy gona work.. me? haha duno where i stand yet.. couldnt work in spore yet.. gona serve the gov.. bt still v headache where to work.. went back grandma hse for dinner & missed uncle foo's cooking :D hehe.. then met up wit munee & hl (again!!) at night.. so nice of her.. although she is busy wit FYP, still she came out to meet me coz i oni here for 2 days.. haha bt to all my fren, no worries, next trip back shud stay longer! this time is mainly for "business" haha... nice catching up wit them, updated myself abit bout my frens & my prayers r always wit them :) wishing d best for them.. somehow, i miss kl abit.. haha.. miss d days d we hang out.. haha.. i feel tht i really spend less time wit frens & now everyone start 2 busy dy.. final year, work, overseas, balik kampung etc.. sri rampai hasnt change much, wangsa maju.. hmm more roads & highway passing by - joining to jelatek.. danau kota really "drop my spec" v nice & lots plc to hang out dy! next time can go there if couldnt find a parking lot at desa setapak :p also, they r trying to expand the roads (2 lanes to 3 lanes) better? since genting klang is always congested.. bt in msia, ul nv solve d congestion by making a more lanes or wider roads.. this trip back to kl, i really think tht, d number of cars on road has increase dramatically!! is it getting easier to pass the driving license (as it always b) or it is easier to buy a car now?.. later at night, went thorugh my order list fr mum & sis :p pack & sleep.. next day, went to collect a parcel at TNT.. it's my grad photos fr uk.. i kena duty tax (rm240+) fr custom coz eden (uk phography agent) declare my parcel as photo frame!! ISH!!! so TNT ppl help me called the custom ppl n they say coz it's declare as photo frame (eh my grad photo comes in package wan la!!), msia also got photo frame, why u import? so they hav to tax me.. geram geram.. not tht i can get my grad photos fr msia also!!!!!!!!!!!!!! paid them lo, bt TNT ask to go kelana jaya custom 2 appeal.. hmm nt enuf time for me to do tht, so will do tht next time when am back.. went back IMU to settle my 2nd convo thing too :p oh for those who dont know, i get 2nd convo ceremony in IMU.. haha.. well, can say waste of money, but but BUT!!! we got to put on our mortar board!! hehe.. as some of u may hav notice, i didnt had mine in scotland :p coz it's nt a tradition there.. they believe in continuos learning, putting on the mortar board means full stop to learning (to the scottish) so mortar board is nt part of the convo.. besides, this is also proly the only chance for me to meet all my batchmates & last cls photos! 1st thing i notice when reaching IMU, IMU has it's own basketball court! 
we used to hav.. only 1/2 basketball court? haha also dental clinics r coming up in d new block.. went in IMU in JEANS + T-SHIRT!!! haha no more formal cloths :p and guess wht.. I GOT LOST IN IMU!! they took off the dead escalotor, n moved in somewhere else, i couldnt find it until i met another fren, who pointed in out to me.. *sweat* at a super hidden corner!! it's near the old photocopy shop, for those who wants to know.. the offices r shifted everyewhere too.. haha.. get lost = tour almost whole IMU.. hehe.. too bad tht i got to go back town to get few more stuff for sis, so no time to took more photos.. anyway, it's still under renovation inside, a bit dusty.. who cares :) met my counsellor on my way out - Dr Ajun: Hey why r u still here?!! wit a super shock expression.. erm.. well.. chated & i was late to town.. this time, also fetches my grandma to spore together.. grandma is getting thinner liao.. also walking v slowly.. v "xin tong" to see tht.. i see the same in my parents.. i know pretty much tht i got 2 b wit my family.. my future is still undecided.. will i b able to b their support?.. hmm finally i hav time to blog on my trip :) hehe.. which one shud i start on? hmm i think i shud start on the most recent ones 1st.. haha coz is stil clear in my head :p yea! hsemates trip + peiling & chewyee who decided to join us last minutes.. huiming & peiling 1st went down to london on d 9th coz peiling nv been 2 london b4 (kekeke... how could u pei!!) so huiming - the person who can tour anyone in london (she been to london 4x dy??) teman her.. or else it will b ashame!! one yr in uk weh.. how can nt been to london!! haha.. well partlya also coz she too busy travelling around europe dy.. am i right pei? :p so on d 11th morning, chris, leeyin & i took an morning train (6 hrs) to london, meet hm & pl at mable arch station. fr there, we took a bus to luton airport & meet up wit chewyee.. while waiting in the departure hall.. guess wht.. FIRE ALARM!!! coming fr boots pharmacy.. everyone was asked to evacuate.. *Sweat* & it's raining outside.. half way through the emergency door, we were asked not to run anymore.. just stay where we r.. 
at emergency exit: wht happened?... n pl was in v bad mood.. coz she couldnt hav her pret a manager's sandwich for her dinner.. peeking out the window, hm saw all the petrol gas truck move far far away fr d buildin we r standing.. hmm BOMB??!!! nt tht unlucky gua.. our last trip leh.. waited waited, obviously we werent told wht just happened.. flight was delay for an hour.. fr 2345 to 0050.. then thought can sleep on plane.. mana tahu, was so cold tht all of us couldnt sleep well.. even hm who is so cold resistance, also complain.. haha.. landed in athens international airport at 6am.. warm waether, coz it's stil early in d morning.. took a airport transfer to aristoteles hotel, had wee clean up & bfast then head of to search for travel agent.. coz we wanted to go santorini so much bt oni limited time.. our final decision is to take a slow ferry (they call it ferry) at 2230 tonight & reach santorini at 1000 d next day.. then take another slow ferry at 2330 on d same day & reach mainland at 1430 (fast ferry r fully booked).. dis also mean tht we gona burnt 2 nights at aristoteles hotel.. we were pretty funny at d travel agent too :) since they call it "ferry" so we wonder if it's open air, cold, hard to rest etc.. d agent laughed at us & tell us, nt to worry.. :) to our surprise, it was a cruise! just tht nt d v v nice ones, bt nt a bad one though.. :) we had cabin to sleep, private washroom, proper cafeteria, bar, disco, ballroom etc.. sth lik titanic? just nt as posh saja.. note: slow ferry - hope around many many islands fast ferry - go straight to destination 
after confiming all our tickets etc.. we head off to acropolis.. bt this time, is about 1100 & super hot!! i can actually feel my skin burning in pain.. we r pretty dehydrated during dis trip as well.. no matter how much intake of water, there is either no or v v less output..

the day had arrived, 50 over VIVA candidates (IMU + local students) over 200+ students were interviewed this morning and many of them did pretty well.. there was also news saying tht results will be on in the evening and our response is: WHAT?! so fast?! and why today leh? we r having bbq wit neighbour today la.. aiyoh.. now cant happily wait for bbq dinner dy.. tak apa lah.. we hav kahyee & weeyeaw making pan mee for us for lunch :p *yummy* hehe coz they cant join us for bbq as they r flying off to spain.. they had a few kacau-ing assistance aka me, jayee, choileng & christine.. haha.. playing with the flour & making it into pieces of panmee..

I PASSED wit MERIT!! super super happy!! broke into tears coz this is much better than wht i hav expected :D thank god tht i'm blessed.. called my parents middle for the night.. too happy till i speechless & duno how to tell them: i love them so much! majority of the class passed wit merit.. some were so emotional coz she just cant believe tht she got the honour :) some were a bit down coz didnt get wht they were expecting and my happiness didnt last long coz there r frens who didnt manage to get through.. feel so bad for them.. they got to either stay back or resit back in msia depend on which paper they failed.. most of them r pulled down by PP3 paper (a must pass paper & is hard to pass too).. and now they cant graduate in time.. it's abit unfair for them coz just tht one paper, ruined their degree.. if nt coz of tht one paper, they could hav got a v good grade.. anyway, i will pray for the best for them & i'm sure they can make it through the next round.. we also cancelled or bbq for tonight and shall just eat in for tmr.. and YES! I'm now a pre-reg pharmacist! graduating in 30th june 2008! i'm looking forward to my trip to prague + bristol, frens & parents visit to glasgow, graduation, athens + berlin trip & heading back home to meet my grandma, family, relatives & frens! btw, this is the state of my living room now.. bags & bags of stuff.. 
and boxes & boxes to be shipped back to msia..  end of my accomodation contract with university.. moving out tmr.. it took me so long to fini packing.. well i started packing since the 1st day of holiday n until today oni i finalised my packing.. thinking of which to pass to junior, which to throw, which to pack for parents so tht they can help me to bring it back, weigh & weigh, again & again.. to be caution about the weight limit.. proly will got to repeat this step again when b4 i actually depart & return home coz surely i'll buy more stuff.. if today it's nt the last day, proly i wont hav the pressure of packing my stuff.. even leeyin & chris (my hsemates) who just got back fr trip, also fini packing faster than me.. anyway i gona miss my bed, my study table, my window, my lamp, my heater, my room.. today, it's the release of VIVA list - aka oral exam. The oral exam candidates are selected by MPharm Management Committee and will be held on Wednesday 4th June 2008.. A candidate may be called for oral examination for any of the following reasons: • the Board Mark falls in a band of 1% below any award classification band i.e. 69%, 59%, 49% or if an examination has been failed • at the request of the MPharm Management Committee. Topics discussed during the oral examination will reflect the breadth of pharmacy as a discipline and may make reference to specific questions in final year examination papers. obviously, i'm nt in the list.. i'm pretty happy coz heard fr senior tht. it's kind stressful n i dont need to prepare for it (giv back all my knowledge to lecturer after exam dy!!) oh no.. my patients going to b at risk?..haha.. out of 7 seniors went for VIVA last year, oni 1 got to upgrade his/ her results.. although the news strike me alright, bt it doesnt really tell where do i stand.. nt disappointed for not being able to hav a chance to upgrade my results bt i hope i didnt did too badly until examination board also lazy wan to entertain me.. not hoping too much, just a pass the i'm asking for.. doesnt really care about all the gradings anymore.. there r more VIVA candidates this year n i wish them all the best.. i know some of them who went super stress after knowing they r on VIVA list, bt chill.. u got a chance to mend everythin.. HELP!!!!!! other than cleaning is still cleaning.. other than tht, i'm bored to dead!!! wna work bt then lazy to wake up.. ish!! no money no money!!.. how 2 spend my 2 wks in hostel b4 my trip starts?.. feel so sad seeing my batchmate one by one went on holiday liao.. sigh.. alnwick castle - home of the Duke & Duchess of Northumberland It was built as a medieval fortress in 1300's & is one of the two largest inhabited castles in england. it has been the home of the Percy family for almost 700 yrs :) ps: the current duke & duchess r so handsome & pretty... OMG... (fr the family photos exhibited). in the castle, there is plenty of fascinating exhibited furnitures & archeological collections. some part of the exhibited area r still used by the current duke & duchess (eg the library) and they live under the castle which is their private area, we cant go in..

hmm so although i used my study break and travelled 3 hours single journey to alnwick castle.. no regret la :D had fun also.. although was a bit disappointed for the "wall" hehe.. i hope i hav a chance to go oxford!!!! pls grant me the chance.. i also untung a bit coz they played the movie - harry potter and the order of phoenix on the return journey :) keke.. i kind of feeling bad coz i missed tht last year as i was here in glasgow, trying to save money fr going to cinema.. haha.. yea, it's a day to rmb.. after 3 1/2 yrs of hard work P105 ended our final semester final year with our last paper - advanced drug discovery. umm someone told me, shouldnt b a hard paper coz less credit, bt the final exam contributes 100% (no assignment/ project to backup). if u screwed up, then bye bye.. yea u r right, i screwed my paper as well.. answer four essays in 2 hours = 30mins for a 25m question.. how to manage?.. many of us experienced cardiac arrhythmias, brain damage, nerve incoordination & jerky hands?? (is tht wht u call??) during the exam.. most of us cant really think and write a good essay.. ps: all the SxS oni apply to IMU students coz i dont know how local students can do calmly during the test. 25m worth of essay, wht we usually do is to vomit as much thing as possible out coz u dont know wht exactly they r looking for in ur essay. 25m = 25 points?.. peeking across the examination hall, local students' essay r short, proly short + accurate? i'm pretty sure it's quite easy to differentiate IMU students' essay to local students'. it was a rushing paper tht i dont even hav the time to form proper sentences.. (eg: ....also...., also....., and also.....). tht wht happen when u dont hav a rangka karangan, points r everywhere anywhere... anyway, it has all over.. just hope all of us will pass.. i dont even hope for more.. oni if i can graduate.. i hope nt to disappoint my parents.. trying my best to b the guai guai lui of my parents although i know am nt good enough.. anyway just to update some of the cute things tht i can rmb :) still rmb me complaining of glasgow is hot hot hot??.. yea it was tht hot (20 celcius oni :p) and i'm sweating lik mad in my room without heater, window opened. yea bt it was during ths study week, so i cant enjoy the sun.. bt see wht the angmoh did outside my hostel :p bbq, study under sun???, picnic, sunbathing etc.. if u r lucky, u might caught some bikini girls too :) green greern grass + sun is perfect in glasgow... in addition to those, some couples just couldnt resist themselve n ehem in the public as well... it's kind of cuci mata for us during the boring study break, our heads popping out the windows and some of my mates actually took video/ photos.. eh! privacy lah!! (who is talking now :p) 
however, the good weather oni lasted for 2 weeks and coming to the end of my exams, the weather start to turn cold dy, with strong wind.. well bt not bad :D i can wear my jacket + t-shirt, no more thick thick winter clothings.. on the 26th of apr, went to alnwick castle wit international students, bt it was just a few days b4 my 1st paper.. dilemma for a few days.. n i regreted for going.. coz according to jim wilson's mail, it is one of the plc where harry potter was starred!! eh, my fren shud know how could i resist the words 'HARRY POTTER'.. then there i went.. will write more on it later.. lepas tu, in between my exams, i went for a musical play in SECC - MAMA MIA!!! wit my neighbours (joey, kahyee, jayee, choileng & chewyee) was a v nice show until we dont even feel lik living the hall.. *muaksie* although it wasnt as good as CATZ, bt it's a v good production.. nv regret although in the middle of exams..

(choileng, kahyee, jayee, kc1, wenjing, chewyee, eunice, chueyee,chansee, paikling, me, joey, jasmine, sarah, kahwei & kc2) in random poses wit MAMA MIA's program book wit me.. keke.. on the 18th may, my hsemate - huiming said she "bei guai zak" (cantonese).. her story made me n leeyin who r staying next room to her, cant get a goodnight sleep for few days.. this incident actually happened to my neighbour, joey 2 weeks back, bt we werent so worry, coz NEXT DOOR seems a bit further.. next ROOM......... errrrr we a bit worry le.. duno y.. then we thought of various ways to fight wit "it" eg: try to pinch urself, bring ur 'fu' (aka sth like lucky charm fr temple) along or say some sth lik 'e mi tuo fuo' etc.. then choileng said: eh, wht if hantu here cant understand chinese ar? haha.. then someone suggested to put a bible by ur bed side :p in our room, all of us were given a book of bible.. although am nt a christian, hehe i 'kia si' until i put my outdated 'fu' and bible by my bedside.. still, i cant close my eyes withour worries. i kept trying to open my eyes every 5sec.. in the end, i had my bedside lamp turned on throughout the night.. wit lots of imagination & lights on.. i didnt manage to sleep well.. even till today.. will try to off my lights tonight.. wish me luck.. 22nd may: went for a hair cut :p out of desperation.. hehe.. and random bbq party wit clsmates.. 
to do list: clean my room, get my EHD fixed, come out wit itenary for hawlun & tracy stay in glasgow, start wit my harry potter 7th book... dramas, dramas & dramas.. (to be cont) it's 1st year am not celebrating mother's day wit mummy.. haih.. bt mummy, AM MISSING U SO MUCH!! same goes to dady n cute little sis.. hehe.. my family has now moved to spore coz company assigned project for daddy at sentosa island.. so both sis went spore for study as well.. pretty stress i heard fr my sis, bt they r coping well.. am sure mummy is enjoying today as a queen :D thanks mummy for everything u gav me.. i hav more than words to say to u.. love my family :) i was pretty happy today, nt bcoz exams r over (nt yet!! 3 more to go), neither coz i am well prepared (still youtubing).. bt my fren - raymond liew got into top 20 for "SO U THINK U CAN DANCE, malaysia"! v happy for him.. i've always wanted a stage for myself, bt i nv good enuf fr tht, n cant really decide btw my passion of dancing & study (tht's wht my instructor always tell me, greedy?) nt as brave as violet (she is really good) who actually dropped her uni study n went for performing art *salute* she is doing great in tht field too.. in few months time, will i dilemma again? career n interest? so i'm just a moderate ppl, who just love dancing.. hehe.. bt am sure raymond is going to OUTSHINE everyone! he has the great passion & talent in dancing.. it's also nice to see own frens achieving their dreams step by step :D proud of them.. when ppl who dont know maths play cards aka chikuan!!.. (fr 3 --> Q) checked in a ikea-ish hostel by noon.. big big big & nice.. drop off our luggages then tour starts! went to the grand place/ grote markt (a 15th century town hall), tried waffle & choc ice-cream (local favourite) and manneken pis. 
it is a bronze fountain sculpture, potraying a naked boy urinating. he has 801 costumes and changed accordingly.. many diff versions behind tis little boy. one of it where he was hung on a tree in a basket during a battle and he urinate onto the opposite troops & lost. another legend saying tht this boy actually saved the city by urinating on a burning fuse, tht was used by foreign power explode the city wall. which ever, he seems to be a hero of the city :) bt when i saw it.. "WHAT?!!! he is much smaller than i though!!" the statues of him in souvenir shops r huge and.......... see it urself.. 
so wht 1st came into ur mind when u think of brussle, belgium?.. hehe.. girls will know.. choco!! :D *yummy* went searching for the recommended traditional high quality choco by WITTAMER & MARCOLINI.. super duper tempting & nicely decorated.. however, it hold me back when u see the price.. *fainted* nv will i ever got a taste of it.. 
tin tin also got choco?.. again walking aimlessly around & shopping for souvenirs.. pretty happy when we bought some choco bt then the happiness doesnt last long coz we went into supermarket, the chocos in there were much cheaper!! *heart broken.. ouch* to mend the pain, we went looking for fruit beers! we bought a few tht r recommended - Gueuze (v sour), Faro (sweeter), Kriek (sweet & sour wit cherries), Westmall (highest alc content among all we bought, worse to drink) & lindemans (apple flavour). These beers got it unique sour taste fr bacteria tht only exist in & around brussels in the valley of the river Zenne. 
dinner in a vietmanese restaurant & meet up with leeyin, christine, eunice, wenjing & chewyee at hostel. we depart to see brussel skyline, the 3rd highest building in town. nothing spectacular bout the building bt it lights up at night. 4200 windows changed colours separately lik pixels on computer screen. 
we then head off to search for brussel fries - bt closed dy.. *sob sob*. Next destination, a 360 degrees spectacular view at the top floor of Parking 58. pretty cold & strong wind..

didnt got to see the atomium in person.. back in hostel, we started our party!! nah.. actually just big jiejies (chansee & chueyee) trying to teach bad on little meimeis (yijie, chikuan & me :p) 1st, we got to think of how to open the bottles of beer we bought.. leeyin our saviour offered her souvenir - manneken pis bottle opener.. unfortunately, the souvenir was so fragile and we broke it by the 3rd bottle.. got a replacement for leeyin.. 
sorry leeyin.. lesson to learn: never ever trust souvenirs.. or.. souvenirs r nt practical.. 
by hook by crook, we gona open them.. using the broken stopper removal, keys, even toothbrush.. & finally we did it!

drunk roommates.. to finish up all of them, we played simply rock paper scissors. then tested who is out of control.. hehe.. chansee :p cant balance herself.. ~ happily end of our trip ~ last day in amsterdam, going to explore the city since we have been travelling to much of the outskirts for past few days.. checked in at marnix hostel, clean and nice.. 1st stop being anne frank house (ish.. forget to take pic of it :( sad sad..) anne frank was just one of the many victims of Jewish persecution during WW II. her family fled to the netherlands in 1933, when Hitler came to power in germany. in 1940, German Nazis occupied the netherlands & fr then on, the repression of Jews increased there as well. by going into hiding, the frank family hoped to escape this. Otto Frank, Edith Frank (his wife) & their daughers Margot & Anne took up residence in the building, now named anne frank hse. later, Hermann & Auguste vam Pels, their sin Peter & Fritz Pfeffer joined them in hiding. after 2 yrs, they were betrayed & deported. anne frank had been keeping a diary while she was in hiding which she wrote about everyday life in the annex, the isolation & constant fear of being discoverd. it was also highly recommended by my fren - chueyee & huiming (eng books lover). so i'm determined to buy this book & read it :D visited the hse, and was amazed how those 8 ppl can hide themselve for 2 yrs.. got v excited over the entrance to the annex, concealed behind a book shelf and u can hardly find it unless u moved the shelf. the annex was pretty big though.. the windows were covered with dense semitransparent glassine paper. 4 bedrooms, bathroom & living room. they must had trusted the ppl in the front hse so much as their daily supplies r provided by them - the helpers. we then walked aimlessly on the street. we r the typical tourist grp, photographing at every single corner we went to, and not interested in going into museums. went to (as in 500m fr the building, take pic, ciaoz..) flower market, diamond shop, madame tussads, rijksmuseum, national monument, vondel park hard rock cafe (there is always some hard rock fans in a grp). since we had 3 day pass for public transport.. we actually hop on the the tram fr city center, took in all the way to no where, until we realise we r out of map dy, then we hop off n hop on fr the other side to return to city center.. fully use our pass :) some how also too tired to walk dy.. 
 must try 'food' in amsterdam - cannabis products. tried space cake in coffee shop.. err.. no effect on me nor the others.. coz 5 ppl shared 1 piece of cake :p hehe.. proly more effective if u smoke though :p dare not try.. hehe..
nonetheless, how can we missed heineken when u r in amsterdam? bt, it's under renovation.. ish! dinner at a chinese restaurant.. 
back in hostel, i finally had my wonderful shower, play cards & finish off our snacks. introducing my roommates:

yijie (close-up) got up feeling pretty well.. again.. i dont want to get out of my bed! my bed n blanket is so warmed by my body heat for the whole night.. breakfast: instant noodle.. haha enjoyed the instant noodle coz in cold weather.. hot soup just make it perfect.. the plan of the day was to visit the windmills, cheese n clog factory. we bought a 6 euro unlimited bus ticket on the day of arrival at tourist info, but still not v sure how 2 get there. went to ask for direction at the bus agent, and they told us, there was no bus to the windmill today (sunday) :( sad sad! but we still can make our way to the others. at the cheese factory, a brief verbal introduction of cheese making. we were also given samples of cheese to try. they r famous for its smoked cheese :D hehe delicious.. there was also demonstration on clog making. we were told tht it takes 5 yrs to learn, 4 yrs to make a pair and a button on the machine takes only 5 mins. we then had our packed lunch - burger 1 euro chicken burger! while waiting for the connecting bus to volendam. 
volendam - the famous fishing village. the souvenirs here r way much cheaper than town! haha shopping spree for us again.. allow me to crown cheekuan as the shopping queen of the day. nevertheless, we enjoyed the crowd and winds. we even had hails tht day. stroll down the streets, we found a photoshop. we got a lovely group photo of 5 of us dressing in dutch costume. hmm it was fr this photo tht i noticed.. i significantly fatter liao!! die die.. other than tht, everyone seems pretty :D we girls nv forget about foods! tried dutch pancakes (umm kaya ball-like minus the kaya in it + butter + icing sugar) also gebekken kibbeling (fish nugget?)

gebekken kibbeling at volendam we also met a grp of kind of lost china ppl asking for directions fr us. they even mistakenly bought a return markem express ticket from markem to volendam. so kindly, we bought the other half of the ticket fr them :p they sold us at a much cheaper price.. hohoho.. it has been a long time since i feel the breeze.. hmm too bad, i'm got to wear my jacket.. celaka!! (ps: ah ming their trip, weather was so nice to them tht they oni wear summer jacket). reaching markem, another photos taking expedition.. there r a few bridges in the little island across some tiny little river.. each bridge has the same name as the 5 pavillion hall tht we saw at keukenhof. i think, these shud hav some significant history to holland. we then took another bus to monnickondam. here, we found the building 1620! haha it's a little monument the chueyee n i bought at the cheese factory. we though it has no meaning :p just the design was nice.. haha who knows, we found it here in monnickondam :p we were so excited.. our conclusion, these small little monument tht we bought r some old buildings all around amsterdam.. taking our own sweet time, we reached the water sports area.. there were uncountable yachts, ships and boats. it's a lovely evening wit sunshine, no rushing of time, no pressure and i really appreciate the time spent together with my frens.

returning to city center, it's dinner time. we had some superb indonesian food (dutch went to indonesia once upon a time, so indonesian food is a must try :p) bt EXPENSIVE *sweat* Last plc tht we gona visit - the sex museum. there r plenty sculptures, paintings, art and pictures on various theme. well, i'm pretty a conservative person in certain aspect i would say, i can accept most of the things, a bio students, used to it liao.. bt quite sick of some of the pictures. to me, it's just nt right, too much? not norms.. nonetheless, posing the the museum is sth tht cant be missed.

after oh our way back, we picked up a box of marijuana biscuit. hmm they had no effect on us :p we had to "act" high.. haha mostly we r laughing at our own jokes :p then to our surprise, xinyin, alicia, joyce & diana arrived at amsterdam fr brussel today and stayed at the same hostel as us! haha we had girls talk in my caravan and exchange experiences on our trips.. thanks chansee n alicia for "warming" up my bed.. haha.. last night at lucky lake.. day 2, woke up wit flu.. oh no!! why today!! sigh.. it's a gloomy day.. we took the 1st shuttle at 915 to the metro station and of we go to the town. had a short tour around the town, photos taking and surveying for cheap souvenirs. found a v nice thing about amsterdam building is tht they r nt even? er.. parallel? hmm my mind is blank, cant think of a word to describe.. well, each building is on its own, then some buiding r slanted and i like the design..on our way, we met eunice, wenjing, leeyin, christine & chewyee.

spotted this nice wall painting in an alley at 1215, we took a tour to keukenhof garden for TULIPS!! tulips werent fr holland itself, but somewhere between turkey & china, north region of himalaya mountains and is a type of mountain flowers. it is a symbol of royalty in the past. the name "tulip" came fr an austrian ambassador at the turkish court, he mistaken thought tht the turks called these flowers tuliban as the tulips resemble "tulban"/ "turban", the head-dress. it was brought to holland by a scientist (couldnt get his name right) and he planted the 1st tulip. later, the government then looking for a place for tulip exhibition and here they found - keukenhof = kitchen garden, where the owner of the land, initially planted some herbs for her kitchen use. the theme for year 2008 is china & the olympic game. so we shud b seeing some china & olympic elements in it. the garden was lovely, but too our disappointment, not all the flowers were blooming yet. thanks to the cold weather :( also, i cant find the olympic symbol in the garden! mayb we missed it or somehow.. sigh.. but it was still nice and colourful, full of flower fragrance (i still can sense it even i'm having my flu :p) well, wht girls do when we r surrounded by flowers?!! haha camwhore again :p besides, we didnt hav the chance to step into the tulip field.. i'm so looking forward to taking rows n rows n tulips!! nevertheless, we covered the garden in 5 hours. (the tour was suppose to be 7 hours - one hour for single journey. the bus then pick us up at 6pm.. oh yea, we felt tht we got cheated by the tour.. we shud hav went to the garden on our own.. the excursion was so expensive and wht they did was just pick up us fr the town n drop us at the garden then pick us up again fr the garden, wit little little info on the bus). juniors, find ur own way there next time! ah!! also, my self camwhore tech improved :p haha coz all of us were too busy busy wit flowers.. haha..

this is one of the so call chinese element in the garden - the dragon.. and it's green :( no flowers blooming yet.. in the evening, we met up wit leeyin & the gang for dinner at a chinese restaurant (nan ji). they r famous for wan tan mee bt i order sth else (mixed meat rice.. sth like tht.. wit sao rou, sao ya and char sao). well, cant denied tht they wan tan was delicious, but nt their rice.. the meats r so so so so fat!!! didnt even fini my dish.. also they had a bad customer service! well, like christine & chewyee, they wanted to share a plate of rice as they werent tht hungry yet, but the short lady said (in cantonese): er.. we dont want to do ur business if wan to share. wht the.. then how? u expect both of them to leave? hey 2 girls walking around the street late evening, and was quite near to red light district area.. in the end, they order one plate each. leeyin also wasnt in the mood to eat, so she forced herself to order a wantan soup, the lady goes: just a soup??... (high pitch). so irritating!! well, dont go there anymore.. even if they hav the best wantan in the world.. but i cant deny tht, they really hav a good business.. need to queue in order to get seats and is always full.. 
next destination, we decided to visit the red light district - the major tourist attraction in amsterdam i bet :p it is a network of alleys wit many tiny room rented by female prostitues, mayb some male? who offer their services fr behind a window or glass door (some says like aquarium) they wore as little cloths as possible, some even wit florecent undies..most of the window/ door r illuminated wit red light (tht's the way the name come fr). we werent allowed to take photos or laugh at them (basic manner). there is one man who got scolded wit dirty words for making fun of them. their business runs day and night. tall, short, small, big, fat, thin, young, old etc lots of variaty for guys out there :p but, it wasnt too shock to me as they werent totally naked.. haha just another ladies wearing bikini displaying themselves? didnt we always see them at beaches n tv? but i felt the pain for them... they got to work this way to earn money. there r also a number of sex shops, sex theatres, cannabis museum and coffee shops offering various cannabis products. we were approached by a man, offering us live sex show, and he claimed that this is educational.. well, dont really dare to go in due to safety reasons.. heard fr hawlun tht, his gang of fren, some did went in.. so i bet they enjoyed themselves :) anyway, there is rumours saying red light district is going to close down soon..

we then head of to souvenirs shopping again.. haha.. there r lots of cute stuff here, salt n pepper set wit sperm like, ehem like etc.. then we head back to our hostel, warm shower, cold bed and blanket. i popped 2 panadols and an antihistamine. 
cheekuan & i central station behind us extra: plantation of tulip nov: is the time to plant the tulips, for both the breeder and gardener. once in the soil, the plant will send out roots before winter starts, which enables the bulb to absorb water dec: the cold winter (below 9 celcius) spell is needed for about 18 wks jan: tulips tht r grown in green hse r starting to flower and will b sold as cut flowers mac: the increase in temeprature slowly starts their growth n push their tips above ground apr: tulip fields r starting to flower may: the flowers r mown off. this encourages the plant to absorb sun-energy fr the leave and transport to the new bulbd tht r growing in the soil. the mother bulb wil die slowly and the new bulblets, at least one will grow to the size tht is suitable for flowerbreeder or for the garden jun: the bulblets r fully grown. it's time for breeder to harvest. in the garden, the bulblets will remain the soil for next season jul: the harvested bulbs will be dried and porcessed and distributed worldwide I slept early on the 3rd as i got to wake up at 330m on the 4th to catch a bus to preswick airport at 445am. i should hav a good night sleep but hawlun called at 1130 and woke me up!! how could u khor hawlun! i then tak jadi to sleep ady... then i switch on my computer and watched a few drama. finally at 1am my eyes couldnt take it anymore n i off to bed. at 400am, i met up with chueyee, chansee, yijie n cheekuan. 5 of us, walked in the dark and make our way through the streets.. our journey starts! we departed fr preswick at 730, reached dusseldorf at 10. fr dusseldorf, we took a 3 hours coach to amsterdam (why complicated route?.. coz we r poor students, this is the cheapest way we could get for these dates) the coach was late for about half an hour, we thought we got cheated from the internet but lucky it came :D happily we boarded and to my surprise, the whole coach.. was only for 5 of us!!!! wow... cool.. and we got our comfortable seats and had nap since we didnt had much rest esp chansee, who were still rushing for project till the morning. between journey, i did wake up a few times and i found tht the highways in holland are pretty much the same as malaysia - the metal barriers along the highway, green information board, greens along the way, straight (unlike scotland wit winding roads). the only difference is a left hand drive.. i still not v use to seeing vehicles passing me on my left.. haha.. didnt took out my camera for some shoots coz was too tired and i fall back to my sleep..   yijie, cheekuan, me n chueyee & chansee
reaching central station, we went directly to tourist information as we dont hav much planning yet (too many assignmentsss!! i just handed in the last one the day b4). the lady was pretty helpful and friendly. we sat down at burger king for lunch also do decide wht we r going to do in 3 days and which tour to take. coming to an conclusion - day1: tulip, day 2: windmill, chess & clog making, day 3: city tour. Later, we make our way to our hostel - lucky lake. it is located about 30mins fr town. 1st by metro and we were welcomed by a aussie guy (holidaying and also working part time at lucky lake) for shuttle bus. however, the shuttle can only take 8 ppl at a time and he already had 5 ppl with him. so we were given a token each, went to orange bar opposite the road for free drink! haha the 1st drink we had in amsterdam - heineken, product of holland. how can we missed tht! :D it was nicer :p haha i love the after taste and it is smooth to drink. it also helped to warm us up as it was pretty cold in amsterdam. all of us had underestimated the weather. we thought it should be better or worse, just as cold as glasgow. who knows, it was worse than glasgow!! i bet, this year, the weather everywhere is going haywire.

promoting heineken? we choose lucky lake coz we want to experience the country side life + caravans. i was dreaming of the long caravan, with kitchen, sofa, tv etc :p but it turned out to be just a small one but it was cute, a v nice place, wit lovely scenery.. the only disatisfactory i had is tht, they dont hav heater in the caravan!! as i mentioned, the weather was pretty cold this year, i fall sick on the 1st night itself liao.. we had 2 blankets fr them but it doesnt help much. i dont know how we survived for 3 nights, bravo to 5 of us :) the torturing part is when u got to get out of ur bed n put on ur cold clothings every morning. i guess, the only warm place is the bathroom. haha.. i still rmb, the 1st night when i bath, my legs turned into red patches (cold n hot intermitent). the next day when i wake up, the patches turned purple!! :( oh luckily nth serious happened, no deep vein thrombosis nor need antiplatelet, but was painful for me to walk..overall, i love this place, clean, v relaxing, enjoyed sitting down and feel the touch of the wind on our skin and admire the scenery. it would b prefect if we could hav a cup of coffee. but, choose to go during summer i would say :)

chansee risking her life for us! haha lovely evening at lucky lake, and had pizza for dinner. looking forward to tmr.. after a few 2000-3000 words essays for about more than a month.. i'm just so sick of essay, journals n word documents.. i dont even know if i'm writing up to the standard of master english or not.. sigh.. but FINALLY!! i completed n handed in my very very last project of all anyway, i woke up at 830, so tht i can rebut for computers in the computer lab with others.. the deadline is tmr (but i'm going to amsterdam n brussel tmr.. hehehe.. get myself refreshed before i gona start on my study breaks... kekeke) but the computer n printer r just not working v well :( some more the printer can only do black n white, so i hav to do the colour printing separately in the library... checking - printing - arranging - binding - checking again - handing in took in about 3 hours? *sweat* but i'm now FREE!!! hehe.. a bit tak sampai hati wan to hand in my project (sayang le.. got love wit my project wan leh.. i've been together with her for more than one semester).. although, i dont think i put much effort in it, but i just cant bother too much.. i dun think i hav done enuf extra readings on it, discuss the results properly etc.. coz well, i love labs but the experiment weeks allocated r just too short.. i hope i can do more work on my project so i can discuss better?.. *excuses* oh well, no return ady.. pray hard that my supervisor is kind enuf to pass me, n the external marker can understand wht am i talking in my project *fingers cross* hehe here is the muka of my final project :) not v colourful (expensive la!!) but neat n tidy... hahahaha... thanks to all my colleagues - chueyee, angeline, sarah, heesheong n nadia, my supervisor - prof alastair florence (the most handsome lecturer of all :p) and miss julie bardin (lab assistant) *huggies* bye bye!! gona start packing my cloths n feed myself with more dramas.. haha... gambateh my other clsmates! one more day to go! amsterdam, brussel HERE I COME!

(which i think... i wnt b able to let go my youtube n bed... haha) also came to know about "earth hour" fr xinyin...hmm therefore i wikipedia it liao :p it is an international event tht involve the nation to turn off thrie lights n non-essential electrical appliances for one hour on the evening of 29th mac at 8pm local time until 0pm to promote electricity conservation. this help to promote electricity conservation, lower carbon emissions and reduce light pollution. However, there are only several participating parties n guess wht, all neighbouring country of malaysia took part (manila, bangkok, spore & jakarta.. except brunei) and malaysia not in the list... *shame of tht* some ppl think tht well, just tht one hour of conservation wnt help much but...!!! if everyone can take part in this event, it really helps to conserved enviroment a lot..an hour of each household may not meant a lot but the sum of every hsehold is huge.. ps: just got my final exam timetable.. 6/5 Drug Delivery System (credit: 20) 9/5 Clinical Pharmacology and Prescribing (credit: 20) 13/5 Biopharmacy 5 (credit: 20) 16/5 Pharmaceutical Care (credit: 40) 21/5 Advanced Drug Discovery (credit: 10)
